Committee

Vancouver Le Chéile is run by a dedicated volunteer committee that oversees the smooth operation and development of the club. As a youth GAA club, we rely on strong community support and clear governance to provide a safe, inclusive, and well-organized environment for our players and families.

Our club is affiliated with Vancouver GAA and operates in line with the guidelines of the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) and Gaelic Games Canada. We hold an Annual General Meeting (AGM) each year, where members are invited to review the club’s progress, discuss future plans, and elect committee officers.

Key Committee Roles

While roles may vary slightly from year to year, the core positions on a GAA club committee typically include:

  • Chairperson
Provides leadership and direction for the club, chairs meetings, and ensures decisions align with the club’s values and goals.
  • Vice Chairperson
Supports the Chairperson and steps in when needed.
  • Secretary
Responsible for club administration, communication, and record-keeping, including meeting minutes and correspondence.
  • Treasurer
Manages club finances, including budgeting, payments, and financial reporting.
  • Public Relations Officer (PRO)
Promotes the club across social media, email, and local media. The PRO helps share news, match updates, and events with the wider community.
  • Children’s Officer / Youth Officer
Ensures the club complies with child safeguarding policies and creates a safe, welcoming environment for young players.
  • Registrar
Manages membership and registration records, liaising with GAA registration systems and ensuring all players are officially registered.
  • Coaching Coordinator
Oversees coach recruitment and development, ensuring that sessions are age-appropriate, fun, and in line with GAA best practices.

Governance & Membership Involvement

Vancouver Le Chéile is committed to transparency, accountability, and active member involvement. We encourage parents and guardians to support the club—whether by helping at training, volunteering at events, or considering a future role on the committee.

As we grow, more roles may be added or adjusted to meet the needs of the club and our members.
